Vista Launching for Consumer Delayed Until January 2007

Sorry guys, Microsoft has delayed the release of its new operating system Windows Vista for consumers until January 2007 citing quality issue as the caused of the delay. Microsoft co-president Jim Allchin in a conference bared that manufacturers needed more time to test and prepare their system. Seems to me that Microsoft is not just ready to compromise quality with hasty hit in the market, not to mention missing the 2006 shopping holiday season.

Richard Doherty, an analyst at Envisioneering Group in Seaford lamented that the said delay is not good for the whole industry. Let’s just hope that Windows Vista will come out strong from its series of “surgical improvement”.
