Talking Point: Revolution Controller’s Impact on Gaming

First let me start off by saying that I am very excited by the revealing of the Revolution’s controller. I will try to be as un-biased as possible but this to me really is a revolution in gaming.

For the longest time in home gaming history, players have been confined to holding a controller (which in time has only evolved by adding more buttons and contours) and manipulating the buttons in presses and combinations. This controller, in my opinion, will change the way gaming will be played in the future.

I can’t say to have seen any Revolution games graphics to compare this console’s images to that of the Xbox 360 or Playstation 3 games which seem to be competing solely on graphics and console power; however this being a next-gen console I’m almost positive the Revolution will still have more power than any of its previous generations. What this means to me is that though the revolution may not pack the ‘oh wow that’s so realistic’ into their games, Nintendo does have an outstanding reputation for games with unlimited gameplay that never gets old. Once again, for myself I would rather have less powerful graphics for games that will make me think, and physically move my body, instead of the traditional sitting down and mashing buttons on a controller.
