Xbox360 VS. PS3 – Where They Stand

Hot on the heels of Team Xbox’s bizarro pro-PS3 next gen console analysis, comes this much more level headed entry from GameDaily. It’s a short article that takes a quick look back at what happened before E3 last year, and how Sony and Microsoft are adjusting their tactics in readiness for this years E3 battle to end all battles.

“Microsoft announced its pre-E3 press event for the Monday night before the show, then Sony trumped the competition by announcing its press event would be held several hours before Microsoft’s (something that has never happened before). Not to be outdone, Microsoft announced an MTV special that would air a few days before either press event (although MS claims the event had been planned for awhile).”

It’s a quick read but an interesting one, and sheds some light on just what’s at stake come May of this year for both parties involved. They discuss chip yields, shortages, and killer apps, all in an effort to illustrate that these two giants will do whatever it takes to take the other down.
