We have a little sneak peek at the updates planned for the Xbox One today. One of them is a new animation on the boot screen so you know your console hasn't crashed. That's handy.

Preview testers say they've seen animated dots like those seen below and also a pulsing logo - one of which may make it to the final cut.

"We finally have a way to know our Xbox isn't frozen on bootup screen,” one such user said on Reddit.

"I believe the green 'X' in the logo pulsed, but it was an extremely subtle effect,” said another.

Meanwhile, Phil Spencer responded to folks asking about future Xbone updates on Twitter, saying, "We've worked through the feature list through October. MUs [monthly updates] will continue and features look good."

He didn't say exactly what that entailed beyond saying, “Load times and install times are things I'm focused on.”
