Xbox 360 and PS3 are officially gone.
Ubisoft has become the first big publisher to abandon the old-gen platforms, announcing this week that it would no longer build games for the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 (except Just Dance). The new broke during a financial call with investors; Ubisoft is now aimed squarely at PC development and development for the new-gen Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
Ubisoft’s old-gen offerings were still pretty beefy. Last year, the company dropped two Assassin’s Creed games along with Far Cry 4 and some other stuff to the 360 and PS3. This year’s sequelfest, however, will be skipping the old consoles. In fact, Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate, will be the first AC game that has ever not launched on the PS3 or 360 since the series made its debut.
Ubisoft didn’t mention the Wii U. Hrmm.
