Nintendo Mockolution – Even More!

It just had to happen – below we have another new Nintendo Revolution controller mock-up that has been doing the internet rounds.

The images above depict what is in my opinion, a rather professional job. But the so-called “tracker pak” you see at the front of the unit looks hardly revolutionary. Nintendo’s official unveiling is drawing nearer. But then again, so is Christmas.

Original Story –
In recent times, Nintendo Revolution mock-ups have been popping up everywhere. Obsessed fans or people with nothing better to do have had much too much time on their hands, but in the end we’re the winners. Because quite frankly, if Nintendo aren’t going to hurry up and give it to us, then someone has to!

Well, here’s the latest one, featuring a split in between, the much-expected gyroscopes and the choice of a touch screen.

In my personal opinion, its obvious that its not real. The creator seems to have failed to recognise Nintendo’s cost barriers and there seems little point for the controller to be split into two – if it were, Nintendo would require two seperate transmitters thus more cost.

But regardless, its a great idea and we applaud the person with too much time!

Shigeru Miyamoto had this to say about what Nintendo wants to do, in an interview that appeared in yesterday’s edition of The Age’s Green Guide…

“Sitting in front of your monitor with a controller, there’s really nowhere to go from that paradigm, all you can do is make it prettier and faster,” he says.

“What Nintendo wants to do is open up that road, create something that goes beyond.”

Now, a trip down memory lane to have a look at a few of the mock-ups that have appeared over the last 6 months.

Nintendo of America Vice-President, Reginald Fils-Aime has said to EGM recently in an interview that just because Nintendo fans haven’t seen the controller doesn’t mean anyone else has.

And other sources are indicating that Nintendo are ready to to make a move with this controller and so we should be prepared to see it in the near-future!

Viva la revolution… Its on the way!
