Best Buy has recently put up a sneak peek of Halo 3 for the Xbox 360, with a release date on May 15th, 2006. This could put a damaging blow for Sony’s Playstation 3 which is expected to debut in the spring of next year. While this date is not confirmed and could be a guesstimate on Best Buy’s part, it would coincide with Bill Gates’ statement that the PS3 would ‘walk into’ Halo 3 upon the consoles release: “
At this point Microsoft has not confirmed a release date. Statements from Microsoft have put the launch somewhere around the time the PS3 will be released. Rumors have indicated that Halo 3 will debut with the Halo movie that is speculated to be released in 2007.
My best guess is that Microsoft will put Halo 3 up against the release of the Playstation 3.”
