Marvelous has been around for a long time and they've had a number titles spread across different platforms in that time. It seems, however, that with the forthcoming arrival of the 3DS, the publisher will be focusing more on providing games for the new handheld gaming system.
So far, they have a few titles already on track for release this year, only one of which is for the 3DS. Rune Factory Oceans is for the PS3 and Wii, Half-Minute Hero 2 is for the PSP, Ikenie no Yoru also goes to the Wii, and Animal Crossing: Let's Build A Zoo would be the 3DS release.
It seems that we're about to hear more 3DS announcements from Marvelous.
The 3DS will be the cover story on Nikkei Business' issue coming this week, and Marvelous Entertainment president Haruki Nakayama talked about their plans for the handheld.
According to Nakayama, half of the games that they will release this year will be for the 3DS.
It wasn't clear, however, if he meant calendar year or the coming fiscal year April 2011 – March 2012. If this refers to the calendar, then they'd have about two more 3DS titles to hit the target. One of these could be the 3D Harvest Moon game that they have announced, but haven't detailed just yet.
