Hope for PC and Playstation Tomb Raider Fans
The newest Tomb Raider game of the series, Rise of the Tomb Raider, will be released on Steam and PS4 in 2016. This is good news to fans who believed that this new Tomb Raider game would only be available on the Xbox platforms, as Square Enix had announced this last year. Director of the game, Brian Horton, had announced that Rise of the Tomb Raider will run on 1080 pixel resolution. This was displayed on an Xbox One at E3 2015. The game will continue from where the 2013 reboot finished. Rise of the Tomb Raider will feature traps, puzzles, and texts contained in tombs, according to the art director. In addition, Camilla Luddington will continue to be the voice actress of the game’s main character, Lara Croft. E3 2015’s demo of Rise of the Tomb Raiderrevealed a snowy environment in a mountainous area in Siberia, which is the game’s main setting. However, the game will feature more locations to make the gameplay environment vaster. In other words, unlike previous Tomb Raider games, this one will be more open world which means there will be more exploring to do. This is evident in the E3 2015 trailer which displayed different tombs and underwater locations. In addition, the puzzles and traps will hinder players’ ability to reach far ends of the game, not to say that it is impossible to reach these areas. Simply put, in order for players to unlock new paths, they are to engage in puzzle-solving. Rise of the Tomb Raider will also feature the ability to use sixteen different resources that will allow the player to craft various types of gear that will assist them in their survival.
Rise of the Tomb Raider is expected to be released for Xbox platforms in November of this year, which is earlier than the PC and PS4 versions being released in 2016.
