Halo Creator has a New Game and a New Studio

iphalosmallIn February, Bungie developer and Halo creator Alex Seropian said that he would be starting a new development studio and start working on a new project with Dreamworks R&D manager Brent Pease. Since then the pair has gone completely dark, with some even speculating that work had been cancelled. I can now assure you that this is indeed not the case as Industrial Toys has officially announced Morning Star for mobile devices.

As you might expect from this man's past, the initial details on the game reveal that Morning Star is indeed a sci-fi based shooter. Set in 2130, it is up to the Joplin research team to investigate some mysterious happening around Earth's Solar System. As you might imagine, things get a little out of hand between two opposing groups, and it is your job to settle the score. It certainly sounds a lot like Halo, except this time it will be on the much smaller screen of your mobile device.

Essentially the mission of the team is to craft a game that is meant for hardcore gamers that they are able to take on the go. With an emphasis on intuitive controls, intelligent AI, and strong online matchplay, it certainly sounds like it might be the type of game for genre fans to enjoy. If that's not enough for you, Industrial toys has also enlisted help from sci-fi author John Scalzi and DC comic artist Mike Choi to lend their respective abilities to the title. In general, that's about all we know for now, but you can bet more details will be on the way in time!
