Let's face it, God of War III and Uncharted 2: Among Thieves are two of the best games ever to grace the PlayStation 3. But now that their respective glory days under the spotlight have run their course, Sony has now added them, along with a few other greats, into the PS3's Greatest Hits budget line.

Any self-respecting PS3 gamer should have those two titles by now. Whatever it was that kept you from dodging them for so long, you could probably forget about considering the new price point. God of War III is the bloody masterpiece that sees Kratos exact his brutal revenge against the gods of Olympus. It's definitely better than its predecessors and it's a fitting end to one of gaming's finest trilogies.

Uncharted 2, on the other hand, took a lot longer to reach the discount bin, although the Game of the Year Edition has previously come out, bundling it along with its numerous downloadable add-ons. Many would still argue that it is the best game on the PS3 to date, and it has a ton of awards to boot. Now, the Game of the Year Edition also joins the Greatest Hits line.

The latest inductees to the Greatest Hits line also include Heavy Rain, ModNation Racers, and UFC Undiputed 2010. Hold on, this is just for the PS3 - the PSP is getting some price price adjustments on its end as well.

Now that the NGP and Xperia Play have both been announced, the PSP will also be getting a smaller price tag. In North America, you can get a PlayStation Portable for just US$ 129.99. If you want new non-pirated games on that thing, there's a pretty good selection of Greatest Hits and Favorites for the platform.

The newest additions to those are:

New PSP "Greatest Hits" Titles ($19.99)

  • Assassin's Creed Bloodlines
  • Dissidia Final Fantasy
  • LittleBigPlanet
  • Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker
  • Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters
  • Resistance: Retribution
  • Toy Story 3: The Video Game

The new Greatest Hits additions are a tempting lot. With Duodecim on its way, you might consider getting the original. You might also want to try Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker if you haven't yet, recommend it to a few friends and you can play it together. LBP on the PSP was also pretty good, considering the difference in power that the PS3 has over the PSP.

New PSP "Favorites" Titles ($9.99)

  • Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII
  • Daxter
  • Monster Hunter Freedom Unite
  • Killzone: Liberation
  • SOCOM U.S. Navy SEALs: Fire Team Bravo
  • Tomb Raider Anniversary

C'mon, Crisis Core for the price of a small PSN downloadable? That's already a steal right there, even if the game is already quite old. If you didn't have a PSP during the glory days, here's a good chance to catch up on the good picks. At ten bucks a pop, you can give yourself a nice oldie that you probably would've gotten when they were still new.
