Happy Tuesday to my Download Roundup fans! This week, I was busier than ever trying to keep up with all of the great 4.60-compatible homebrews for PS3. In case you missed them, here are five of the most popular downloads over the past few days. Whether you want to spoof an older custom firmware, or play backups on a newer 4.60 one, here are all the files you need!

IRISMAN v3.05 - PS3

With the launch of 4.60 custom firmware comes the expected onslaught of compatible backup managers. A star amongst that sea of options is Aldo Vargas' IRISMAN. Like most of his fellow developers, Aldo took IRISMAN 3.05 as an opportunity to port his manager to 4.60 CEX and 4.50 DEX custom firmwares. In fact, this build includes the code to perform IDPS changes on both versions. Another little perk is that PRXLoader can be set to automatically start as soon as IRISMAN closes. This essentially means you can keep plugins constantly running in a very Cobra-like manner.

The only real downside to this update is that it does require a separate package to be installed if you want to enjoy discless playback. This does add a little bit of bloat to the otherwise small manager, but at the end of the day it seems to work well. As far as bugs are concerned, this is probably the most polished 4.60 backup manager you can get.

A decent alternative to IRISMAN is Orion's GameSonic Manager. Get more info on that product on the next page!

GameSonic Mamager v3.00 - PS3

In a very similar vein to IRISMAN on the previous page, Orion also updated GameSonic Manager to support 4.50 DEX and 4.60 CEX custom firmwares. PSID changes are also supported on both versions here as well. In that sense, the basic feature sets between these two Iris Manager forks remain quite similar. The only major difference from a usability standpoint is that an extra download is not required for those that want to use discless mode. Instead, with GameSonic, everything is included in one pkg from the get go.

A few developers have found some small bugs in this build, but otherwise, it functions just fine. The choice between IRISMAN and GameSonic is really a matter of personal taste and loyalty, but if you prefer Orion's work, then this download is for you! On the surface however, both 4.60 managers are basically identical in the feature department.

Want to launch backups from the XMB? This mod coming up makes it possible with plenty of spoofs for 4.60!

webMAN MOD v1.29.4 - PS3

Before I start running down the features of this awesome plugin, let me warn you that this article is about to get repetitive (if it's not there already). More popular than 4.60 backup managers, were homebrews that spoofed existing custom firmwares to version 4.60 for online purposes. First in that lineup is Matsumot0's popular webMAN mod. It packs full spoofing for 4.46 and 4.50 CFWs, while adding in a new soft-reboot shortcut and slight changes to the installer.

For those looking to launch backups from the XMB, this Cobra and non-Cobra plugin looks to be the best way to do it at the moment. With a simple pkg installation and high compatibility, it's hard not to go wrong with this one. Especially when it allows you to play your backups online, this is a must-download for those that refuse to update to 4.60 CFW.

Looking for a more simplified spoofer? I've got just the thing that's only one click away!

4.60 Spoof for 4.55/4.50 CEX Standard CFWs - PS3

If you want a more targeted 4.60 spoofer rather than one included in a homebrew app, arachetous has made this multi-functional solution for most 4.50 and 4.55 CEX custom firmwares. Supported versions include Rogero, Zero, Ferrox, and Arch. For the most part, that basically accounts for all the major players with the exception of REBUG and standard Habib. Simply run this pkg and your version number will be spoofed to 4.60. That's all there is to it!

Spoof 4.55 Rogero and Zero CFW To 4.60 - PS3

Even though the download on the previous page can accomplish the exact same task, (and more) this was the spoofer that you guys found the most useful. As shown in the name above, this very specific package is specially designed to spoof 4.55 Rogero and Zero CFW to 4.60. Like the previous one, this is a very simple installation that only involves running the included file. Should you have Rogero or Zero, this popular spoof should work as well as you need it to. All in all, there are plenty of new ways to fake your version number on less than current custom firmwares.
