EA Reinforcing FIFA Ultimate Team Security |

Whether accurate or not, EA’s FIFA Ultimate Team has been linked to a rash of Xbox Live account hacks over the last few months. And while both Microsoft and EA vehemently deny that there’s any problem in either the Live service or the FIFA game that would enable hackers, it looks like EA is at least taking some action to counter possible threats.

EA is changing the way the trade system works in the game, making it so that players can only send trade offers to people on their friends list. Additionally, all players will be required to create a security question after the title update is applied. If someone tries to jump on your FIFA account from a new console, they’ll have to answer your security question first.
Naturally, EA is still stating that the problem lies with gullible players. In the company’s statement regarding the patch, EA noted that it was doing everything it can to keep players safe from phishers and scammers—there’s not a hint of culpability in there.
Then again, more security is always good. What are your thoughts on FIFA Ultimate Team and the hacked accounts that seem to have come with it?
