Ó

Now that Oblivion has been out long enough for people to get through 1/10th of the game the reviews are starting to trickle in. I must say I am very impressed with the game and have already put in over 24 hours of gameplay myself. There were only two major problems with this game; which were, the frame rate drops in some areas, and the loading issues, but all the eye candy seems to push those issues aside. This is a must buy for anyone with a 360 or a high end pc even if your not a fan of rpg's. So without further ado we bring you the reviews from some of the major game sites. I personally rate it 9.8 after playing for 24 hours with my lvl 18 mage.
- Yahoo! Games (100/100) was instantly addicted ("The only problem with Oblivion is putting it down"), and spent plenty of time taking in the scenery: "Screenshots don't do this engine justice -- seeing it in motion will impress the most jaded of gamers. Sumptuously detailed and full of vivid, rich color, it puts even the most graphically detailed of FPSs to shame, let alone the rest of its typically drab genre."
- GameSpot (96/100) compliments Bethesda's attention to replay value: "The many types of gameplay in Oblivion are well-designed and deeply satisfying, even when taken on their own. That's the main difference between this game and Morrowind. This may be a role-playing game, but you could play it like a pure action game, or like a stealth game, or like an adventure game, and it'd still be at least as good, if not better, than games that are specialized in these regards."
- TeamXbox (95/100) enjoyed the customization and level progression: "Although the amount of options provided when creating a character not only amazed us, it tops our list of favorite features. The way in which a characterÂ’s skills and abilities are increased works great for the experience, and we found ourselves not having to worry about what level we were, as it seemed to naturally move up as our quest evolved."
- IGN (93/100) suggests the game will appeal to both hardcore and newbs alike: "Once outside the initial dungeon, you'll start to understand just how massive Oblivion's world really is. Opportunities for new quests and stories are everywhere, and there's no pressure as to which path you should follow. Thanks to the map, journal and fast travel system, it's way easier to follow a path once you pick one."

Man...you need a girlfriend you loser"
How about you go get a job, licence, and a girl and grow up before you tell anything to anybody.
There is a difference between gamer geek and a 12 year dork.
The gamer geek can get a girlfriend(I have one and she is great...no she isn't an obessed pig she weighs 120)
The 12 year old dork can't get a girl....he is too busy going online acting like he is a badass.
Just grow up.
Anyone this is an amazing game...i've only played about 20 hours....almost done with the main quest....and barely have done any of the hundres of side quests...

best $60 i ever spent. i dont think i can ever go back to a JRPG ever again.
it constantly gets better and better. i just discovered that dungeons restock themselves and can be redone after a long period of time. which is great. i also found out that the enemies progress in toughness so that its not always easy when you get strong.
im level 17, and a warrior with some serious issues with keeping his health up. (tried restoration magic, just wasent good enough, now doing alchemy, seems to be doing the trick)

Dont ever judge people because you read they play for over 40 hours.. maybe they have nothing to do?
And so what if they dont have a girlfriend EVENTUALLY they will get one.
Anyway ive only played for 5 hours... not in one day >>;
I got school and basketball anyway
1/10 jk

I've got about 40 hours done...i'm only a level 10 but I have about 50 quests done. I'm a Morrowind veteran so I know how to do things easily withough vaing to level up. I've already got Umbra's Ebony suit and a house (I didnt use the money cheat) The only thing I dont like about Oblivion is the terrain...Its too steep

As for the thieves guild, you have to get arrested and put in the imperial prison, when you get out a couple of things might happen.
you will have a note in your possession from grey fox telling you where to go for the thieves guild
Or, a man will at some point arbitrarely run up to you and hand you the note.
They have no guild hall so they have to meet behind the docks of imperial city after midnight.

Did you not read what i posted? I was bashing the guy who was acting like an ass to the guy who is playing this game.
"Vecha = Tool
No one gives a s**t about your girlfriend."
So says the 12 year old.

my settings are 1080i with dolby surround sound so i'm really putting the 360 to its limit here especially with this graphically beautiful game.
My 360 doesnt crash or anything, it just freezes for a sec (A LOT) then resumes gameplay but it is always at the crucial times where i'm battling something or the music changes.
I'm guessing its because the 360 gets real hot when running at my settings, so therefore the disc gets hot and it harder to read..
any advice would be aprreciated

Figured tho that all the people reviewing this game would surly slander it for these loading times (i.e. 5-10mins for inital loading, 30-60seconds for inventory and other people inventory to appear).
Did a search on google and it came up a defrag problem on the 360 - jOeBrO this may solve your prob..
restart the 360, press and hold 'a' down until you see the game logo. This will clear the previous 'fragmented' copy accross to the HDD and will load a fresh one, cleared my probs right up, artical found here ->
