Xbox Live's resident mouth-piece Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb has revealed that Microsoft will be granting free access to its Xbox Live service this weekend as part of their attempt to set a Guinness World Record attempt through Kinect Sports.

"Marking a free weekend of entertainment on Xbox LIVE, dubbed Xbox Nations, Kinect Sports players around the globe will join together and attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the ‘largest online 100m sprint’ at 1pm ET on Saturday, April 23," reveals Major Nelson. Xbox 360 gamers can participate in the event by logging into Xbox Live, firing up Kinect Sports, and running a 100-meter dash event at 1pm ET. As a token of appreciation, Mircorost will reward each participants with an exclusive Xbox and Guinness World Record Avatar t-shirt.
The Major adds that the Kinect Sports multiplayer will be unlocked for all Xbox Live members in all regions on that day so that everyone can help in the world record attempt.
