Do you love Halo? Do you also love unsubstantiated rumors? Well then do I ever have some news for you! No, but seriously, some of this is unconfirmed. Don’t come crying to me if none of it actually happens.

Okay, with that out of the way, let’s talk Halo.

First, on the subject of an HD remake of Halo 2: According to Official Xbox Magazine UK, 343 Industries is prepping a remastered version of Halo 2, similar to what they did with the original game late last year. The magazine contends Halo 2 Anniversary is already in development, which seems amazing considering everyone at 343 should theoretically be polishing up Halo 4 in a panic at the moment.

Second, on the subject of the beloved Forge mode: Halo 4 will in fact feature this fan favorite map (and so much more) creation tool, but it’s not being developed in-house. Certain Affinity, the company behind Crimson Alliance and a collaborator on titles like Call of Duty: Black Ops and Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, showed off its new Forge toolset at the Rooster Teeth Expo held over the weekend.

Confirmed elements include a new lighting system, reworked user interface and “player trait zones” that change damage, run speed, jump height and host of other attributes.
