Social Media
Much like we saw with digital downloads, social media was in a lot of ways just starting to dominate our world at the dawn of the last generation. Because of this, when folks like Microsoft and Sony were making their machines, having the ability to share with these kinds of outlets probably wasn't something they considered. Then came the smartphone which allowed us to spread our entire lives to our followers at the push of a button and since then the world has never looked back. Whether you are designing an app or OS, social media integration with Facebook and Twitter at least is a must, and you'll see that reflected in consoles.

So what kinds of features could we possibly expect? How about the possible ability to post screenshots, status updates, or even gameplay videos right from inside your game? Oh and all those friends and followers you have on those networks will probably be able to very easily add you to their PSN or Xbox Live friends list too through app integration. So far we have already heard that Sony could be going all hands on deck with this model through a dedicated share button on their remote, and Nintendo's TVii allowing users to interact with their favorite shows on these networks. I highly doubt that any respecting hardware producer will ignore the fact that such technology has become a part of our lives when they make a new console.
So we've heard about touch pads already, but are there any other new ways to play? Click on to the next page to find out!

I don't really have anything against touch I guess. However, a good button goes a lot further than a "hot spot area" anyday...
