UFC Undisputed 3 Video with Rampage |
Listed in: News Tags: THQ, UFC, ufc undisputed 3

In the latest video for UFC Undisputed 3, Quinton "Rampage" Jackson talks about his career while shots of the game are laid over it to simulate the various points in his career that he is talking about. He talks about his time in Pride in which he became a superstar; his victory over Chuck Liddell, his defeat(s) at the hands (and knees) of Wanderlei Silva, and his eventual move to the short-lived WFA.
Of course, the video culminates with Rampage moving to the UFC and his rematch with Liddell in which he won the Light Heavyweight Championship. It also goes over his reunification match with Dan Henderson in which he unified the Pride and UFC belts and then the match in which he finally defeated Wanderlei Silva after being previously destroyed by him twice.
It's cool to see Rampage reminiscing about this stuff and how the game tries to emulate his career, but as always the game seems to fall a little short in truly mimicking these fighters and their styles. None of the recreations' finishes look like the actual match finishes, for example. I always play these UFC games, but they're usually rentals for me. Maybe it needs to get away from THQ to escape the pro wrestling video game format it's fallen into.
Career mode - the mode this video showcases - is just plain boring. I don't want to manage my fighter's sponsorships and strength & conditioning training, I just want to fight! Undisputed 3, as you can see in the video, now has "Real World Camps" and you can see Rampage sparring with Bisping and Kongo there, but this still doesn't make for exciting gameplay. Nevertheless, I'll give it a go.
UFC Undisputed 3 is out in February and there is supposed to be a demo coming next week.
