Ubisoft is already transitioning to the new Xbox and PlayStation, even if they haven't been revealed yet.
"I think [Wii U is] sending the message that the new transition is going to happen - and we're going to have new machines coming soon," Yves Guillemot told Gamasutra.
Ubisoft has adopted a strategy that sees them develop several games for upcoming hardware, so that's they're the first on the platform. The publisher did it with Nintendo 3DS -- even though their games were of extremely low quality -- and they're doing the same with Wii U. Guillemot plans to continue this with the new Microsoft and Sony machines.
"We're going to continue to take this approach," he said. "We feel this console is coming with very innovative features that will change the video game industry and we want to be a part of that."
