Transformers: Fall of Cybertron Dated, Trailered, and Given the Behind-the-Scenes Treatment...and None of that Michael Bay Crap |
Listed in: News Tags: Activision, High Moon Studios, transformers: fall of cybertron

After the awesome trailer that came out late last year, the pressure has been on Dark Moon Studios to follow up with a great game. War for Cybertron was an overlooked masterpiece, so fans of Transformers will undoubtedly enjoy Fall of Cybertron, but the devs aren't sitting on their laurels. We now have a release date, a new trailer, and a behind-the-scenes vid that shows off new gameplay styles.
New characters are to be expected, but with that expect some very different types of gameplay. While playing as Grimlock will be different (particularly when in T-Rex mode), from the behind-the-scenes vid we can see that stealth will be integrated for certain characters (along with what looks like an execution) and new flying mechanics that look like they vary from the almost on-rails approach taken in the first game.
There's been no word yet on the multiplayer, but since it was so well received the first time around you have to expect that it will return. Transformers: Fall of Cybertron will be out in North America on August 28th and in Europe on August 31st.
