Runic Games must be getting ready to work on Torchlight's sequel, if the first game's sales on Xbox Live is any indication.
Previously, the developer has maintained that they will only be coming out with Torchlight 2 if the sales for the first title shows that there is a market for it out there. Well, the numbers are in and as it turns out, Torchlight just earned for itself its highest sales day ever on Xbox Live.
No specific numbers were released by the company, but a visit at the game's leaderboards recently yielded some 70,000 gamertags. To this, Runic prez Travis Baldree sai, "We're very excited to bring Torchlight to the 360, and have been really gratified by the positive reaction. It's affirming to know that console players love this genre as much as we do. We think the experience translates pretty well to the couch."
Torchlight garnered good reception for the overhaul made in its userface and controls, despite the lack of multiplayer, which was not in the original PC version too, anyway.
You can download Torchlight from the XBL Marketplace for 1200 MS Points (US$ 15). If you want to check it out first, though, without spending at once, there's a free trial demo available too.
