"Teddy Bairds for Child's Play" is this weekend's GOW3 event and it will support the Child's Play charity organization by getting people together to inflict simulated violence on one another. Child's Play is a charity founded by the guys from Penny Arcade and its goal is to get toys and games into the hands of needy hospitalized children all over the world. Sounds like a noble cause.

So this Friday the event will start at 12 PM EST and run for 24 hours. There will be prizes to be had and a different event almost every hour. There's no word yet as to what the prizes are, but in addition to Epic Games, other participants include Monster Energy Drink, Brady Games, Think Geek, Mad Catz, and XtendPlay.

I don't know what a "Teddy Baird" is, but if it looks like that thing in the pic above I'll take one. There's also no word on how ribbons will be distributed for this event for those chasing after the onyx War Supporter medal, but these events always suck me back into the game regardless.

12 AM - Open Lobbies (Mad Catz Midnight Mulching)

1 AM - Halfway There Horde (details TBA)

4 AM - "He's on fire!!!" (Scorchers and Incendiary Grenades abound)

5 AM - 18 hour power hour (Boomshots and Frag Grenades)

6 AM - Open Lobbies (XtendPlay 6 AM Jam)

7-9 AM - Open Lobbies, Capture the Leader

10 AM - Kristin Lindsay (Child's Play) - private Beast section

11 AM - Final Hour Open Lobbies
