The Witcher 3 has only been alluded to before, and not even by name. Now we have the whole shebangabang, including some juicy details. CD Projekt RED has just confirmed The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for "high-end platforms," which has to mean next-gen consoles. It's going to be a vast, open world affair that will be 20% larger than Skyrim. The developers say it will take you 30-40 minutes to ride all the way across the map on horseback, should you be so inclined. Their new CRED Engine 3 will be handling the streaming map so there won't be load times.

As far as the story goes, this one will be more personal. Witchers are already monster hunters, but previously this was more background information than anything. In The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt it will be front and center. There will also be a story in which Geralt (The Witcher) will have to save his loved ones from his arch enemy.

There will also be new skill trees, spells, and swordplay mechanics.
