The Return of the Killer Teddy Bear |

2010's Naughty Bear was a game that fell victim to its own hype. There was a lot of buzz behind the game and there were even moves to get it banned in certain places because of its mixing of violence with imagery that looked to be for little kids. When the game came out, those who'd paid full price for it were decidedly underwhelmed. It was fun, but simply repetitive.
That being said, I rented it and had a blast. The juxtaposition of cartoon silliness and extreme violence was...charming, for lack of a better word.
And now we're getting a sequel, called Naughty Bear: Panic in Paradise. Thankfully, it won't be a full retail title so the price point won't stick in most people's craw. It will feature new leveling mechanics, an overhauled combat system, vast equipment customization, and more than 30 missions set amongst 11 different areas of Paradise Island. Hmmm, there's that repetition again.
Here's what David Osborne of Behaviour Interactive had to say about it: "Naughty Bear really struck a chord with gamers looking for something more than the same old gameplay. With Naughty Bear: Panic in Paradise, we're turning the naughty dial all the way up to 11!"
It'll be out this fall on PSN and XBL.
