The multiplayer demo of "The Outfit" has hit Xbox Live today. Being a multiplayer demo, it can only be played online, with up to 8 players, on a Gold Account. Silver members however can still download the demo, but is limited to offline 1-1 split screen. The demo is available in all regions.

Here are some official details on the level in the demo:

Name: Estate Assault
Game Type: Strategic Victory
Overview:
•After a coordinated offensive - Allied Command has commandeered a French villa just across the river from the Axis HQ.
•Choose your side (Allies or Axis) and squad leader to play (3 from either side; 6 total) and lead your squad into battle to destroy the enemy’s HQ, while defending your own.
•Capture strategic points located throughout the map to earn Field Units (F.U.s) – that can be used on the fly to call in Destruction on Demand™ - air-dropped into the action at any time. Everything can be called in from tanks, jeeps and half-tracks to squad reinforcements, machine gun nests, anti-tank guns and even air-strikes on enemy positions.

Thanks to everyone who submitted this news to us today! Post your feedback about the demo in the comments. That is now WHEN you stopped playing....

» fix

I had this problem too.

I played around a bit and came up with this solution.

Plu in the video cable that came with the 360 and when this is plugged in you can change the display settings to pal 60.

Then swap back to the vga cable and the demo should work fine. It fixed the problem for me, I hope it does the same for you.

» How does it look!?

Nice game, not sure if I would buy it!

The GFX are not up to next gen standards, would rather play on PC, but as it's a free demo it rocks, gameplay is smooth for an online game apart from a very annoying "connection error" window that pops up every few minutes (just for a split second). But i'm sure they will fix that soon.

7/10 Just cos it's fun!

» Awful

Tried the demo, I can't imagine a scenario in which they thought rock music on a WWII game would be a good idea. The Outfit is truly awful.

» Bum Fluff!

This game reminds me of those terrible Sarges Heroes games! *shudder*

Graphics look like a bad PS2 game, no lighting, sparse terrain and slow 'treacle' animations!

Having said that I did enjoy playing it once I'd worked out how to spawn random vehicles, which are nuts to drive!

When is this supposed to be released?

If it's within the next month, avoid, next 6 months possibly!

» i love this game

prerelease graphics are never an accurate description of the real game. i rather like the style they have and the way they are going, it's not a serious game like call of duty, it's a fun game, where you can airdrop an artillery gun into your base and pelt the opponents base with shells untill buildings collapse taking away their points.

I am deffinately buying this, i believe the US release is the 14th
