Sleeping Dogs Will Kick the Shit Out of You Thanks to Input from a Real Fighter |

Square Enix has enlisted UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre to help make the martial arts in Sleeping Dogs more realistic. We've already seen some videos of the wild martial arts that are going to be in Sleeping Dogs, so GSP's background in karate, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, boxing...well pretty much every martial art, will undoubtedly give him a good perspective on the subject.
Of course, as far as anyone knows, Georges doesn't have experience hitting people with refrigerator doors and circular saws like you'll be doing in Sleeping Dogs.
Speaking on the subject, GSP said, "Working with Square Enix has been an incredible opportunity. I'm really impressed to see how the hand-to-hand combat in the game is shaping up - it's been a great experience being involved."
With his torn ACL, St-Pierre certainly has plenty of time for projects such as this. Let's just hope the game doesn't integrate his current "any win, no matter how boring, is a win" technique.
It was also announced today that if you pre-order the Limited Edition of the game you'll get the following for hero Wei Shen:
- GSP's signature "flying punch," properly called a "Superman punch" in MMA circles
- Exclusive GSP outfit that unlocks the "flying punch" and increased grappling and throwing technique
You'll also get some SWAT gear, all of it exclusive:
- The "High Speed" mission
- Hong Kong Police SWAT Outfit
- A new assault rifle
- SWAT Police Vehicle
Sleeping Dogs will be out August 14th.
