Crytek's Roman-Empire-meets-Kinect title was announced quite some time ago and even got a nifty little trailer (see it below), but then it fell off the radar. There were some rumors recently that it would be pushed back to the next-gen Xbox, and now it looks even more like that is the case, according to an undisclosed source. 

This source, who is someone "close to Crytek" according to X360A, says that Ryse will indeed be a launch title for the next Xbox and will take advantage of the "improved" Kinect that will come with that console. The source also says that Ryse has been "reworked" several times and that there have been "issues" with it and its interaction with the Kinect.

The source also says that the next-gen Kinect "might not be what we quite expect" and that Microsoft is kicking around the idea of making the device a permanent part of the console and no longer a separate device. 

Of course, Microsoft gave their standard response when asked, i.e. "We don't comment on rumor or speculation."
