Batman: Arkham City isn't even out yet, and already, the developers are thinking of many more stories to tell for the universe.
Not that it should be a problem, since according to Rocksteady co-founder Sefton Hill, there's just way too many more ideas for the Batman video game franchise, that they probably even have materials for up to the fifth installment already.

This was divulged in his recent interview with CVG, wherein he said thus: "There are so many more stories to tell that get us amazingly excited definitely. You can't not have ideas with these characters, you can't not have things you want to do, things that get us excited."
He also raved about the "great breadth of the rogue's gallery" thereby providing them with a rich source of storyline for the Batman universe. "To be honest we are really focusing on finishing the game, but there are so many more stories to tell in the Batman universe that get us amazingly excited definitely."
That said, so what are their ideas for future endeavors with Batman?
"At the moment my brain is full trying to finish this [Arkham City] game. But we're always looking. The main thing is, you can't not have ideas with these characters. You can't not have things you want to do, things that get us excited. That's the key thing, we believe if we want other people to be passionate about the game we have to be passionate, we have to be energized and that's what's drove this game and any future games we do as well.
The game was delayed for a little bit, having its October 3rd release pushed back to Ocotber 18th. Rocksteady has also revealed that once upon a time, they did consider having multiplayer for Batman: Arkham City. They just finally decided to opt out of it because it's mostly a character-centric title.
