2. Epic thanks Fox and Lieberman

Dr. Carole Lieberman is a multiple Emmy Award-winning psychologist and best-selling author. To most gamers, though, she's probably known best as the lady who claimed that rising rape incidents can be blamed on violent games like Bulletstorm.

Her statements, which were published in an article on FoxNews.com, has since resulted in a barrage of negative comments from gamers including incidents of Amazon-bombing being done to her books. While she's not about to retract what she said, she told entertainment website Popzara that Fox had took her statements out of context to fuel their own agenda.

"Looking back, I do think the Fox article had an agenda – that of creating the most sensational controversy over Bulletstorm in time for its release," she said. "For my part, I have been saying the same things about violent media for years, so I did not anticipate such a ‘violent’ reaction to my comments, which were not really news. I think that this was due to taking my comments out of context to make them more sensational and provocative towards the gaming community, as well as a change in gamers becoming more aggressive over the years, and more sensitive to people criticizing their behavior. Plus, the Internet has provided a forum for people to express their rage anonymously, notably by Amazon-bombing my books."

If you think that kind of sounds like she's saying Fox wanted to help promote Bulletstorm, you're not the only one. It's not just Fox, though. Dr. Lieberman thinks the game's publisher, Electronic Arts, was in on the act too.

"In order to make a splash with a new product in an already saturated marketplace, video game manufacturers need to do something to get gamers to pick up their heads and buy yet another game," she explained. "It seems more than coincidental that the Fox News story came out just as Bulletstorm was about to be released. And the well-organized viral reaction to my comments makes it seem like everyone read the memo that EA may well have put out, literally."

it helped a lot and 'supposed' experts are only helping what they hate... Keep doing this and more games will be sold and as a result the video gaming industry will become even bigger than it already is...

Shes basically insulting gamers throughout this entire article, essentially calling them stupid and sheep for "falling" for Fox's propaganda to attack her, basically trying to make herself look like the innocent good guy while demonizing gamers. As well as trying to blame everyone but herself, even trying to create some conspiracy that EA was in on it.

Please, she ****ed up, and now shes trying to save face while continuing to inflate her ego and insult us.

You just don't understand tone do you? She's not trying to save face, she admitted she made the comments and that they were used precariously by Fox. As far as saving face goes that seems more like an analytical statement than a pretentious one.

I would not be surprised. They were talking about the game before it was released. They usually only do that after a game has been released.
