E3 press conference invites from Microsoft hint at a new Halo title.
Destructoid's Nick Chester received his press badge from Microsoft, and noticed several references to games we already know will be at their show, including Gears of War 3, Batman, and Star Wars Kinect.
"Most interesting, however, is the inclusion of multiple stickers that reference Microsoft's blockbuster Halo franchise. While nothing has been announced at this time, it's been rumored the publisher may be ready to reveal its next big title in the Halo universe. We've been hearing everything from an HD remake of 2001's Halo: Combat Evolved, to a game that fully utilizes Microsoft's hands-free Kinect."
If Microsoft were set to reveal a new Halo title at their E3 press conference, it wouldn't be developed by Bungie, as they have moved on from the Halo series to pursue other endeavours. What effect this has on a new Halo title, if any, will be seen on June 6, 2011.
