Remedy Entertainment announced last week that Alan Wake: American Nightmare would be more action-y and have more running and gunning. This is especially true in the new "Arcade Mode" called "Fight till Dawn." In this new trailer, it looks kind of like a solo Horde game like that found in Gears of War 2 and 3. However, unlike Horde you don't get all kinds of cool military hardware like mortars and satellite lasers, though you do get an Uzi. But true to the genre you're going to be using a lot of flare guns, nail guns, and whatever else is at hand. However, there will be safe havens where you can get a bit of a respite and unlockable weapons that will let you better take the fight to your foes, like that maniac guy wielding a cement saw. Horrible weapon, that, but that guy's gonna tear you up no doubt.

Alan Wake: American Nightmare is due out in Q1 2012.
