Minecraft Vs Black Ops; Who's Most Played? |
Listed in: News Tags: black ops, call of duty, minecraft, notch, xbox live, Xbox Live Arcade
You already know that Minecraft is damn popular, but you also know that Call Of Duty is also damn popular, with Modern Warfare and Black Ops racking in sales that you can only wish were yours.
Well, the litmus test has been applied, and with the release of Minecraft for the Xbox 360 comes the data; and yes, Minecraft is the No 1 most played game on Xbox Live for the week.

This shows two things; one, gamers like to build blocks more than save the world, and two, we’re less destructive and more creative than you’d think. Also, we’re prone to jump onto a release of a damn awesome game as soon as it hits Xbox Live.
It’s worth noting that since the release of Call Of Duty: Black Ops, the only game to top it in the ‘Most Played’ list was Modern Warfare 3, and since then both games have topped the list, so it really is a little triumph for indie titles.
I've yet to try Minecraft on the Xbox, so I ask; have you? And how does it fair compared to the long lasting (and conveniently updated) PC version?

The console version is pretty fun for a little while since you can play multi player without needing a server and 20 random people and such.
However, I think the PC version still is better though as it has more things(mods, texture packs, skins, control changeability, etc.)
If the 360 version were to ever get free texture pack, server and mod support though, I'd say the 360 version is better.

Having a JTAG just for that is a bit ridiculous.

And a JTAG is the only way to get ANY unsigned code onto the xbox,it would be impossible to just transfer via usb
Although I do think microsoft would definatley implement some texture packs as paid dlc, maybe free if were lucky

Also, I think that they could make a safe way to get gameplay and texture mods running by USB transfer, alas Microsoft...

if a glitch was discovered in the way the data is loaded or stored it could made to crash the system /inject code (mine craft is buggy as it is) ,its easier just to forbid it to begin with
