Microsoft has revealed a plan for supporting HD-DVD adopting hardware makers with cash back.
When a PC using HD-DVD technology trying to get a coupon for Windows license, the price will be reduced. Although Microsoft refused to comment on this issue, EE Times has “also” announced that they are adopting HD-DVD on their homepage. Compared to the free support that Microsoft has offered to the HD-DVD, Blu-ray adopters will have to pay $30 more to get the license.
$30 might be unable to explain the relationship between Toshiba and Microsoft. But to say the least, HD-DVD is extremely important to Microsoft now.
