Microsoft hit with class-action suit for double billing |
Listed in: News Tags: lawsuit, Microsoft, xbox live

Ever get double-billed for Xbox Live? Apparently it happened to one guy in Indiana, and his response was to slap Microsoft with a class action lawsuit.
International Business Times reports that the man in question, Ryan Graves, claims that his Xbox Live subscription had lapsed before he updated his credit card details. Upon updating, he discovered that he had been billed twice for a two-year subscription and that money had was being taken from both his old and new credit cards.
Graves' filing says that he asked Microsoft for a refund but his request was denied. The lawsuit asks that Microsoft compensate him and other "similarly situated Xbox Live Gold members" for breach of contract, unjust enrichment, conversion, and violation of the Electronic Funds Transfer Act (EFTA). Furthermore, he asserts that Xbox Live's "vague and onerous" terms are unlawful.
Microsoft has so far not responded to the lawsuit yet. The company recently announced that it would be spreading its Xbox Live net to encompass PCs.
