Max Payne 3 a Flop? |
Listed in: News Tags: diablo iii, max payne 3, NPD Group

The NPD Group has put out its collected sales stats for May. According to them, sales are down overall, which isn't entirely surprising. Software sales fell 32% and hardware sales fell 39% year-on-year. If you include other things such as peripherals you're looking at an overall drop of 28%. This does not include things like digital sales, rentals, and add-ons, however, so NPD says these figures only represent about 50-60% of total consumer money spent on gaming.
Xbox 360 also managed to come in 1st place in console sales for the 17th month in a row, and it has 45% of current-gen sales. Aaron Greenberg, Chief of Staff for Interactive Entertainment for MS, tweeted a response, "In US $32B has now been spent on at retail on Xbox 360 platform, > any other platform on record ahead of PS2 $30B, Wii $25B #NPD"
That's probably supposed to read "PS3," for what it's worth.
As far as Max Payne 3 goes, it did manage to come in second place behind Diablo III last month in sales, but Michael Pachter, an analyst for Wedbush Morgan, tweeted, "Max Payne 3 a flop, according to NPD; can't believe Rockstar put off releasing GTA to work on that game." The release Pachter receives is more detailed than those distributed to the press, so he must know something the rest of us don't.
Following up, he tweeted, "Without divulging too much NPD goodness, I can tell you that Max Payne 3 sales were less than 50% of LA Noire's. 8 years in development!"

so no they push for more advanced animation tech, great but the rag dolls is still last year and it still doesnt make up for a generic game and predictable, lame story with predictable and lame characters.
well I do hope it doesnt sell well as they need to see where they suffered and fix it otherwise see death looming for them

Annoying as fuck sometimes, but it is fun to play and listen to the many metaphors of Max.

Though thats typical with game these days, Uncharted only allows you to climb, The Force Unleashed only focuses on a few force powers and every single FPS game still feels like I'm playing Doom. LA Noire was alright apart from the fact it made sounds and vibrated when near evidence. I wanted to do it for myself ffs.. lol. Heavy Rain was different, but I wouldn't say that was a game. It was mostly a CGI movie that occasionaly let you press a button to feel connected to the world.

but max payne 3 ??
i have it but i didnt care to even play multiplayer,i think that a game like that doesn´t need multiplayer,i prefered a co-op,would be nice.
i just completed the story on singleplayer,an d thats it,only made 4,or 5 achievements.
i think i will never play it again.
in my opinion there is something missing in the game.
max payne 1 and 2 were great, but this one sucks,in my opinion is a good game, but repeats itself time after time.
i think max payne should be left alone and rockstar shoul invest on games like LA NOIRE.
