Mass Effect 2 Cloud Saves Kick Mass Effect 3 in the Balls - D'oh!

When the whole "cloud-based saves" hit the Xbox 360 a few months ago, I knew there would be problems so I only moved crap onto it that I didn't care about. It turns out that people that moved their ME2 saves onto the cloud may have problems importing their character into ME3. Uh-oh.

EA has taken note and they have posted the following on their website: "While Mass Effect 3 supports cloud saving for new or or successfully imported Mass Effect 2 saves, it does not support the importation of endgame saves directly from the cloud. Additionally, this can cause it to not recognize save files that have been transferred via cloud to a console other than the one where they originated."

The only workaround that has apparently worked so far is to move your save back to the original hard drive in which it was saved in the first place, which can be a problem if you no longer have that hard drive. EA says you might try popping ME2 back in and re-running the endgame to get a new save on your hard drive, they cannot guarantee that this will work.

They also say you may have trouble importing your character if you have custom saves or edits using a "community-created program."

Anybody encountered this problem yet?

Xbox 360 had cloud saves? I must have missed that somewhere.

If cloud gaming is the supposed future of gaming, that future is starting to look even less bright than before. :P
