A (supposedly) leaked insider document from Best Buy shows they are stockpiling 360 consoles to go on sale on December 18th.
A scanned copy of this document is linked below, and it is not verified, but does seem legit. Here’s the juice:
“Hold All Xbox 360s for Dec. 18 Ad
The next Xbox 360 shipment arrives in stores between Dec. 11 and 16. All units need to be held for Sun., Dec. 18.”
Best Buy stores are also told not to take pre-orders, force bundle purchases, create waiting lists or hold the product for customers or employees. They are also instructed to not hold a midnight or early opening.
There you have it! Those of you who haven’t yet snagged a 360, here’s your chance. Maybe you’ll get your chance on the 18th.

Having worked at a Best Buy for a couple years, if that's a faked document, it's incredibly well done. I'd be willing to bet that thing is legit.

I work at Best Buy and it's legit. After seeing that online, I verified it at work. Under employee toolkit=> Media=> Retail Insider=> Dec 1st and 3rd editions for any other Best buy guys who wanna verify. Praise the Lord!

The very last line of the page is up to debate. If this is a scanned copy of a legit "Paper" copy, why would they have "Click here to see photos"? Now, if this was a "paper" where the hell do you click to see these photos. I dont know, the alignment on the paper is horrible. I cant see a company as big as BB not using a company to at least make it look good.I dont know, smelling a turd!

Iceman, those types of docs are available for Best Buy employees in employee workstations. It's sort of like logging into a private internet site the way you browse through it, use links, etc.
A lot of these 'web pages' are printed out and put in three ring binders specific to that department so all of that department's employees can look in that three ring binder and easily get the latest news.
The scan we're seeing is one of those printouts from the Best Buy 'web site' scanned.
Trust me, I'm 99.9% confident this thing is legit. Formatting, fonts, specific terminology, it's all correct. Plus, we've got a current employee already telling us that he logged in and saw this news item posted.

I wonder if this means that the bundle they let me reserve for the 18th has now become invalid?

Which means they have been holding stock... or will be holding stock for up to 2 weeks
Anyone remember their earlier pormise about not withholding stock and selling them as soon as they get them in
Way to keep your word Best Buy

as far as the "Paper" thing goes, thats off of the Employees "Toolkit", which is on a computer. That would be printed off of their toolkit. My problem with it is that it is too well written. I know that sounds funny, but the truth is that after my time I worked at Best Buy, I found that those things were written with much speed and haste, and not very well. The main parts that are bothering to me are, on the "Present all gaming systems" part there is alot of initializing. Thats something I never saw while I was there. I mean, I things may have changed in the last month, but BB is usually into writing it out as, Nintendo Gameboy(SP, Micro), Nintendo DS, and Nintendo Gamecube.
Another of my problems is that the Micro isn't mentioned on that, and the Micro seems to be one of BB's huge Nintendo selling points right now.
I'm not saying that it is false, I'm just saying that is from Best Buy, which it does look like the retail insider I remember, where are all the important common errors and sales pitches?
