Konami to spend a 'few years' rebuilding Pro Evo Soccer |
Listed in: News Tags: Konami, pete stone, pro evolution soccer

Konami's United Kingdom GM, Pete Stone, recently commented on the future of the Pro Evolution Soccer franchise.
"I don't think there's a massive gap in terms of playability [between PES and FIFA]," Stone said.
"There are certain areas we need to improve, but it's not a huge gap - and we're gradually closing it," he continued. "We may not outsell FIFA, but we can sell enough so that it's good from our point of view. Don't think of it as a battle where we're trying to 'win', or outsell them, because that's not necessarily the case. We've made progress and that's beginning to be noticed, but we're also going to spend a few years rebuilding PES and sales. It's a long process."
Pro Evolution Soccer used to be the top soccer game on the market, but Electronic Arts' experience in the sports game field seems to have changed that. Competition in the industry is always good, so here's hoping Konami can make an excellent PES title again.

"PES the top football game on the market" because it was great, now it isn't.
I hope the rebuild will make PES have a true football sensation and not robotic.
Carl B, it's football not "soccer". Uh, Americans...

There's actually a similar story behind why Americans put the month first; we used to do that too, then we changed it, but well after America had already declared independence, so what we usually think of as Americans just being different for the sake of being different is actually just a matter of our languages forking off a couple of centuries ago.
What they did to the word "sulphur" is just unforgivable, though. "Sulfur"? 0_0
