Hideokijima91238In an interview with 1up and Hideo Kojima (creator of the Metal Gear series), Kojima notes that there are are no differences among the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC, but the Revolution is totally different. He also goes into detail on why Metal Gear Solid 4 will not be on the Xbox 360:

“1UP: With your debut of the Tokyo Game Show Metal Gear Solid 4 trailer, which has seen wide distribution in both Japanese magazines, online, and in the U.S. Official PlayStation Magazine recently, it really heralded the dawn of the next-generation. Everything else has been polished and nice, but this was so powerful, so compelling you even had to do a real-time demonstration at TGS to prove it was running on PS3 hardware. That said, it makes you wonder how much of a gap there is between the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3. Do you think you could create MGS4, technically, on 360 if you wanted to?

HK: Yes, that's technically possible. I want to express, first of all, it's not that I don't like Xbox or 360. It's just that last year, our hands were really tied to MGS3, so the other Konami developers were able to get their hands on the 360 tools and hardware earlier. But we simply didn't have time to do that last year. So, meaning that we were behind the other developers in terms of 360 development. Kojima Productions has this philosophy that we want to be the first in everything regarding new technology. So after we finished MGS3, the option was to work on the PS3 to try all the new things for Metal Gear Solid 4. The only reason for this is I'm the kind of person who wants to be the first person on the moon, and don't want to be asking "what the moon was like?" from other people. So that's the real story behind selecting PS3.”

lol

to bet // no, he wouldn't have made MGS 2 on xbox would he.

I totally love his passion and attitude towards developing the games.
rather than trying to make games, he attempts to make a work that he won't regret.
That is the attitude that garners Valve and Blizzard, and look how that worked.

I want more companies to be like them, and the news of hideo, showing his stance publically just gives me joy:D

to anon who thinks the 360 games are ****. How about you try them out. They aren't blowing away graphics. But for every system the games on launch on blowing away graphics. The ps3 isn't going to have the best they it is capable of till after launch.

I don't think him choosing the ps3 over 360 has anything to do with power.

Kojima also mentions in the interview that MGS and Sony consoles have gone hand in hand for a long time, which is also a good reason not to swich to the 360 all of a sudden...

by - 0000-00-00 00:00:00

And because nobody in Japan wants the **** Xbox 360.

I dont really care none of the MGS games have been as good as MGS for the playstation. S it wouldnt bother me if I didnt play one agian. Every time a new one comes out I'm all like yes and go out and buy it get home and play it for about 2 hours and then go, well that wasnt that good. Then I play something else like Fable, Halo, Spliter Cell, or WOW. So whatever, dont care.
