Despite the lackluster reviews, there's no denying that THQ definitely hit the big time with Homefront.

Even without the specific numbers, it's fairly easy to judge this if only based on the fact that the game servers are bogging down from the sheer weight of users.

Fortunately, though, we need not rely on mere conjectures. The numbers are out, and it only confirms what we've already known: Homefront is big.

According to VGChartz, not only did the game sell 375,000 on day 1. By the end of week 1, it's already sold a whopping 850,000 units worldwide! That's just about a quarter shy from a million units!

Most of the game copies sold, so it's also been said, were for the xbox 360 console, taking 2/3 of the marketshare easily. The remaining number of units sold were for the PC and PS3 versions.

Homefront is expected that the game should surpass the 2 million mark by the end of this summer.

The game deserves it. I myself am really enjoying it. The only obstacle at the moment is the annoyance of not being able to join a MP match, but they are working to get that fixed. Other than that, the SP campaign is short, but definitely satisfying. Can't wait for the patch/update to fix MP tho.

The game does not deserve all the negative reviews it is getting. It is simply trolls feeding trolls, which are the same people who say there is not enough new IPs...

Congratulations THQ!

I wouldn't say trolls, a lot of the reviews out there are spot on. The graphics are lackluster, remind me of early ps3/xbox 360 games. The sound effects are ok, playing with headphones online it actually isnt bad, I mean I can actually hear the footsteps on like blackops where it was a joke until they patched it. The SP was decent story wise, like the MP it could have been so much more though. It was too short and the damn slow parts just continued to aggravate me even more. The MP has a lot of potential, but I can't believe they released it with out a working party system. They game was better before the patch because I could actually play a MP game mode besides skirmish.

It was a let down, but not a complete disaster. I was disappointed for sure, because everything could have been so much better. Probably an 8/10
