Halo movie set caught in pictures?

Could these be images from an honest to goodness set of Halo's movie adaptation?

These pictures were posted by Machinima on his Twitter account, accompanied with the claim that they did come from the movie set of the famed franchise.

At first glance, there is no mistaking what those helmets are referencing. Unfortunately, there weren't any shots of Master Chief anywhere. There is, however, a Warthog-looking vehicle, as you will see below.

Talks of a Halo movie have been bouncing around for quite a while now, but no serious talks have really been reported. The last we heard about it, Bungie expressed their eagerness still for the project, if it will be happening. However, they also maintained that if it won't be happening, then they'll be fine going ahead with a TV release as an option too.

We cannot discern at this point if the shooting is for a TV or a movie release. Heck, we're not even sure if this really is for Halo, as alleged. Well, what say you, Bungie, Microsoft? What have you got to say about all this?

Those helmets look horrible. Looks a bit like a b-movie. Maybe looks better in the finished shots though.

Could be a type of trial run before they actually start making the film... so they get a cheap version made with amateur actors to see if the real deal will work

it could be some sort of dress rehearsal, yes. although i don't think they'd be too happy setting off explosives for a mere dress rehearsal. maybe it is a b-movie. that said, who would you like to see play the characters in halo? would you care to see it movie-fied at all?

Some ODST. Spartans are too "Look at me, I'm a cyborg badass" and the ODST are more "I have no cybernetic enhancements, and I can still punch the shit out of a brute just as well as any spartan". I say "Some ODST" because I don't want to see any main characters from a game in movie form (at least with a starring role), that's just bad writing.

well the helmuts are rehashes of the ones used in the first starship troopers movie, the guns are from another sc0fi movie that escapes my name, the warthog you see is a fan built one as is the armour, this looks like a big budget fan movie (big budget fan movies are like 100 grand)

Aye could be testing for a bigger movie company so they get a better idea of what Halo is.

Save money, give the investors a 360 and the Halo collection.

Hmm... Now that I look at it, that Warthog looks like shit. Nowhere near the one that was made for the original attempt at a Halo movie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jydDjf0Bmc0
