Halo 4's been in development for a long time already

After denying it for ages, Microsoft's now come clean that Halo 4 has indeed been in the works for quite a while now.

In an interview with Gametrailers, Don Mattrick revealed: "Well it's been in development for multiple years, so I guess that counts as a secret." If that's the case, then there's a huge possibility that they started developing the game just around the same time as Halo: Reach, if not simultaneously with.

Rumors have been consistently strong that there will be another Halo on the way, despite Microsoft's repeated denials. They even went so far as to claim that they "almost went for Halo: 4 instead of Halo: Reach."

If anything, we have to give props to Microsoft for managing to keep it tightly under  wraps. Now for some trailer, please.

wow, they must have had some really strong NDA clauses in their contracts to not have anyone spill anything at all!

If you guys new anything about Halo, Bungie denied their involvement in Halo 4... They simply said they did not have plans for Halo 4... 343 Industries however picked it up after Bungie ended their exclusivity with microsoft... Microsoft kept all rights to the halo franchise and gave it to 343 which is now directed by Frank O'Connor, the former content director for bungie. Boom...

So... does this mean Bungie had to do with half of it? That'll get a lot of people to shut up about it.

Nah, I wouldn't think so.
They were developing Halo: Reach, so I belive MS had 343 industries work oh Halo 4, that's what I assume.

343 is a small fraction of Bungie, and many numerous new employees... Bungie wanted to move on to different games and platforms...they are doing better things now for the good of the whole...
