Halo 4 is the Biggest Entertainment Launch of the Year

Not surprisingly, Halo 4 had a good launch - to the tune of a cool $220 million in the first 24 hours alone. This makes Halo 4 the biggest entertainment launch of the year, passing The Avengers and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows: Part 2. Of course, a video game is a lot more expensive than a movie ticket.

 

Anyway, Microsoft says that Halo 4 is on track to rake in $300 million in its first week. 

 

In the first five days, Halo 4 players managed to log in 31.4 million hours of play time and the entire Halo franchise has over 5 billion hours of play time. Despite all this, Halo 4 has not done as well at launch as Halo 3 and Halo: Reach.

 

All this is great and all, but Black Ops II is out now so expect a tidal wave of COD to wash over all this.

*yawn* anyone else sick of fps's yet? I mean all in all theyre all the same. Whether your shooting zombies/aliens/soldiers its all the friggan same.
