Gaming is becoming more and more accepted and respected by the public in recent years, and it’s because of things like the ‘Gamers Edition’ of the Guinness World Records, which brings gaming forward as a more normal and casual hobby.

Let’s take a quick look at some of the feats included in the 2012 edition of the book; one of the records is for the most game data pirated game, which went to Starcraft II, at 15 Petabytes which comes to over 2 million downloads of the 7GB game. Another was for most endings in a J-RPG, which went to the DS release of Chrono Trigger, which has one more ending than the SNES version, and finally, the best-selling Avatar item on XBLA are some night vision goggles from Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

I might pick up the book, seems like a good read on a flight or the toilet. Or the toilet on a flight. Now that’s a true gamer in my eyes.

Will you pick up the book?

I'll never understand why people spend money on Xbox Live avatars.

I'll never understand why people spend money on Guinness World Records books. I'll just wait until my local library gets this. It takes about one hour at the most to read the good stuff, afterwhich this book becomes a Paperweight. :D
