Guardians of Middle-earth is an upcoming Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) game from Monolith Productions, the guys that brought you FEAR and most recently Gotham City Impostors (which is on sale for $10 right now, by the way). LOTR Guardians of Middle-earth, or GOM-e as all the cool kids are calling it, is set in the world of Lord of the Rings and puts gamers in control of a Guardian, with whom you control your troops and summon allies to the battle.
As you can see in the trailer below, your Guardian is significantly bigger than the rest of your troops, which looks kind of funny if your Guardian is Gimli the dwarf, alas. You can also pick from several other Guardians such as Sauron, Gandalf, Legolas, Galadriel, and more. As far as the summoning goes, Sauron can summon a Balrog and Gandalf can summon a giant eagle. Pretty cool stuff if I must say
Guardians of Middle-earth is due out this fall on the XBLA and PSN and will cost $15. Check out the trailer below.
