If you've kept up with videogame news in regards to the world of laws in recent years, you may remember ‘Operation Game Over’, an operation that bans sex offenders from online gaming, forcing them to also surrender their e-mail addresses and internet screennames to the state upon registration.

Well, the man who spawned the law, Richard Kretovic, was sentenced on Friday, for his sexual abuse of a 12 year old boy. His sentence? Six months in jail. And being banned from Xbox Live, PSN and other similar services.
His particular case is what the state’s attorney general Eric Schneiderman says is the motivation for the law, and it’s a good thing it was brought into effect; there are many cases of people being ‘groomed’ by paedophiles online who lure children into meeting them.
What do you think of Richard’s sentencing? Despite having Asperger’s Syndrome, I think six months is absolutely ridiculous. The Xbox Live permaban will probably affect him more.

Xbox needs to crack down on this, because my friends hear and see this on daily basis.

If such a monster even thought about doing any thing to my nephew, I'd destroy him.
Monsters like that don't deserve human rights, as a normal human would not do such a thing!

1. Nothing is stopping them from creating a new account. Their punishment would be outrageous if caught but let's face it, they aren't too bright to begin with.
2. There are countless other UNKNOWN offenders out there. Way more then known.
So in the end, all that money, all that legislation, for what? It's not stopping anything.
This is just another excuse for parents to not parent their kids.
