Gears of War Series: 19 Million Sold |

Gears of War is apparently quite popular, as Microsoft announced that the series has managed to sell 19 million copies since its inception.
Since its launch in 2006, the Gears of War series has offered plenty of third-person shooting fun to those who have played it. According to Microsoft, there are a ton of gamers in that group, with the series moving 19 million units over its history. Microsoft didn't give an actual breakdown of the sales, but we do know that the first two releases combined for 12 million units. Gears of War 3 sold 3 million during its first week alone in September of last year, meaning that you can attribute approximately another 4 million to its tally.
The series should get another sales boost when Gears of War: Judgement is released for the Xbox 360 on March 19, 2013. The upcoming release will supposedly focus on soldier Damon Baird and will be developed by Epic Games and People Can Fly.
