It was just a rumor, but apparently Gears of War: Exile was a Kinect-enabled Gears game. Well, now it is no more. Cliff Bleszinski recently told Gamespot that Exile had been indefinitely shelved, but remained pretty tight-lipped about what exactly the game was.

"Gears of War: Exile was an unannounced game that I can't give any details about that has since been cancelled," he said.

Cliffy B. did say that if Epic did a Kinect Gears game that they'd go whole hog with it and dedicate an entire Gears title to it - and Exile was rumored to be that game - but apparently that's not going to happen.

This may go hand-in-hand with Epic's announcement that underlings People Can Fly will not be working on Bulletstorm 2,. It was rumored that PCF would take over the Gears franchise after Epic, so maybe this will all shake out to that effect.

When are devs going to learn that it's layers we want, not dedicated motion controls?

Mass Effect 3 is the perfect example-layered controls that use voice and gestures as well as a controller. Or Forza.
