Is print media all but dead?

Future Publishing Board of Directors confirmed today that the publishing house will move to digital content due to increasingly low revenue.

"As a result, the Board has decided to accelerate transition of Future US into a primarily digital business," their statement read. "This process may take 12 to 15 months, to allow time for existing subscriptions and other contractual obligations to be fulfilled."

There's no word on how this will affect Future's video game magazines in North America, specifically Nintendo Power and Xbox 360 Official Magazine.

"The benefit of these steps will be to improve efficiency, reduce headcount, reduce property requirements, and help accelerate the most promising areas of digital product development."

As a subscribed to Nintendo Power I'm very sad to hear this news. There's still a chance that some of the gaming magazines may stay in print, but right now it's looking like print media for video games is on life support.

I hope not...

I collect Gamesmaster religiously and they have offered digital copies but many of us do not like this prospect.
