Future: No plans to end magazines |

As long as there's a market for them, Future has no plans to end their line of video game magazines.
Yesterday we reported that Future Publishing board of directors decided that the publishing house should turn to digital distribution rather than print media. Future's president, John Marcom, issued a statement today that will let fans of their many game magazines breath easy.
"We at this point have no immediate plans to close any of our existing consumer magazines," Marcom said.
Future Publishing has a long line of video game magazines in North America and in Europe, including Nintendo Power, Xbox 360 Official Magazine, EDGE, and Official Nintendo Magazine.
"Like all publishers, we are in continual review of pricing, product, frequency, distribution and marketing, as we seek to increase direct consumer revenue and lessen reliance on advertising and retail sales. The rapid evolution of digital distribution is opening new opportunities for the magazine brands and their content, and it's still hard to say at which point hard-copy delivery is no longer of interest to readers. That's ultimately what will govern these decisions," he added.
